Chris,

My personal experience in swapping a 904 for a 727 many years ago was that we picked up a solid tenth. We have run 904s ever since. My son replaced a low geared 904 with a 727 keeping the same converter (reworked for the 727) and loss two tenths. I would go with the 904. I am sure there are lots of good shops that can get you one while you wait on Pro-Trans.

I do agree with you on the stick thing, all of it, and while originally it was half joke half tounge in cheek, its growing on me.

Im at total loss on that side as to what ratios to even consider, its been more than a decade since I ran one, and it was a lethal combo but it was dumb luck that one went together right (sbc and wide ratio muncie)
