At 116", you can run a torsion axle with no problems. The Brogie Series 5 cars are built this way, and few will disagree that they work extremly well. .......Take the money you'll save on struts and spend it on some high quality double adjustable shocks for the rear. Tom

Tom: thanks.. I have gotten alot of info from others including some from the track..

I was half way thinking of trying it with a solid front end.. has it been done before?.. I know my old altered was 4 link rear and solid front went 8.7's at 125" w.b...

If the tracks you will be running on are relatively smooth ,or 1/8 mile you could probably get by with the rigid front axle. .... If you are running on a washboard track,or are going to run quicker than mid 8's in the 1/4 mi. I'd use the torsion setup,as it's more forgiving, and will transfer less stress to the rest of the chassis. ... Tom

Tom.. I figure this new car with the small block I am building for it with mild steel chassis, should go at best 9.2's.. run mostly at Bradenton, Gainsville, Atlanta and Montgomery..once in a while trip to Reynolds.. or Sunshine (1/8 mile)..

I have not run at Orlando yet.. but I will with this car..

I want to try my hand at Super Gas Racing... as well as the bigger $$$ brackets..
