ISC also owns Auto Club Speedway in California, and NHRA has been sanctioning the drag way in Fontana for quite some time.

I don't follow NASCAR all that much, but the Chairman of the Board of ISC is James C. France, who is, I assume, NASCAR royalty, but this may be the result of the merger/acquisition. Did NASCAR "spin-off" the day-to-day operations of their properties from their race programs/sanctioning programs? Are they still a "not for profit" corporation?

Stay tuned!!

They want more control of the tracks ISC OWNS. NOT really if NASCAR itself is for sale what are you buying? Not a lot but with NASCAR is for sale now you are buying a lot more to control your own Destiny and NASCAR WILL CONTROLL THE TV$$$$$$. Now you are really buying something.

The deal is ISC and Nascar are one and the same. ISC is publicly traded, Nascar is private. They want to take ISC private so they can mess with the schedule. 38 races a year is like a death march. They want to pare the schedule down, and can with no backlash, when ISC is private.

Nascar tv money is currently huge. Dover speedway received over 30 million in tv revenue in 2017 from nascar tv package for 2 races according to public corporate documents. 10 year tv contracts were signed. They are running out soon and with major loss in tv ratings recently will be interesting.
Nascar splits tv money with teams and tracks.

Talking Re: NASCAR and NHRA. Can they be business partners?

NASCAR has been part owner of Joliet since the 2nd year it existed. At that time ISC was a partnership between NASCAR and the IRL. (The France and George families) That's how they got the NASCAR track built.

NASCAR and NHRA used to be partners back in the late 50s early 60s. Somewhere in my treasures I have a ticket from a NASCAR/NHRA drag race from I think 1962.
