Will ya help a brother out....
Nitro Joe is busy at Norwalk and I was wondering if someone would look in their Stats and see which event in 2005 I last ran the Matador - I don't think I need to list the Class - but just in case , you know, good ol' U/SA. Thanks.

Bruce,
Joe,s stats show only your quickest run which was Fontana in 05. I'm sure he has them all. Jim |

Re: Will ya help a brother out....
Matador Man; Here's all I could find in the Div. VII Points races for 2005....
Fontana; Sept 20 48 7421 U/SA Bruce Fulper, Grand Terrace CA, '74 Matador14.659 15.15 -0.491 Vegas; Oct. 28th 105 7421 U/SA Bruce Fulper, Grand Terrace CA, '74 Matador15.102 15.53 -0.428 Bruce, I got all this off the Summit Fast/News multi-year archive. It's open to anyone... I'd sure like to hear about your '53 Buick. My buddy who currently runs A/SA, Bobby Roper, used to have a '53 Roadmaster he raced with a Dynaflow and a 4.44 ambulance rear end, and some home-brew headers that ran pretty well, considering its 1.3" exhaust valves... Sometime, send me some email (Billdedman@hotmail.com) with some info about your Buick, if you would, please.... Thanks!!! Bill, in Conway, Arkansas

Re: Will ya help a brother out....
Thank you! I was trying to sell the Matador and knew I had taken it out a couple of times in '05.
This proves to the moderator that I ran NHRA Stock LESS than two years ago and qualifies me for the "Racers only" portion of the site. I've got to scan a bunch of ET slips from that weekend I won with the '53. I'll put them up on the other post. It was, rather amazing. The car went quicker on each time trial by .01 or .02 on every pass. Then eliminations began.... |

Re: Will ya help a brother out....
The one titled Performance Preserves. It'll pop to the top when I post the slips. Just got them out and started looking at them. Starts out with Saturdays Class runs. This new deal they were trying at 42, something called "bracket racing," was set up with the rule that you had to enter a Class and lose in order to run this new deal on Sunday. No one knew what the hell bracket racing was in 1971 in Ohio.
Seems like that combo woulda been lower than N/SA, but the Tech guy said....N/SA.... |

Re: Will ya help a brother out....
Was it a 188HP Roadmaster (4-bbl)??? The Super had 2-bbl, you know...
Roper added another port hole and a 4bbl to his Super, and.... presto: a Roadmaster! He tried a stick, but it ran well with Dynaflow... (and that 4.44:1 ambulance rear end.) Floated the valves at the e.t. stripe... LOL! Bill, remembering 1962...
