Default Butner Crashes

Butner has another firey top end crash. Car was on the roof after the finishline. No report if he is ok or not. We all need to say a word and hope he is ok.

He's okay, the fire came from the fuel cell in the front of the car. This time the firewall did a good job of keeping the flames outside the driver's compartment. The car got into the wall, flipped onto the roof and began sliding and spinning through the shutdown area. It was very scary looking from the starting line end of the track, but turned out a lot better than it looked.

Bo is okay, the car flipped over, burst into flames at the stripe going 170. It slid on its roof through the shut down on fire. He got out quick. Not sure why he went over. I was at the top end, all I saw was the car on the roof flying by me on fire. It was scary, the fire was everywhere. Glad to see he was okay.

Smile Re: Butner Crashes

this was on the nhra site
This was ugly - Butner's car was out of the groove and near the wall all the way down the track, fighting to get enough traction to stay with Treadwell. Treadwell won by a car length, taking a 0.10 CIC to get the win. Then, past the finish line, Butner's car went out of control, hitting the wall and overturning, then bursting into flame as it slid upside down through the shutdown area. The Safety Safari was on the scne quickly and we are awaiting word on Butner's condition. This is the second time in less than a year that Butner has been involved in a fiery top-end incident, suffering burns when a fuel leak turned into a high-speed bonfire at the second Las Vegas national event last year.

Finally came the word we were waiting for - Butner is out of the car and okay. Once again the safety gear worked as intended. Glen Treadwell's MOV: 0.0777 seconds (approximately 19 feet).

good to hear he is ok
