Default Mark Wolfe- Pro Stock Qualifier- Who Built the Engine?

I see Mark Wolfe qualified for Pro Stock at Las Vegas with a 97 Probe. I looked him up and I see he entered three Div. 6 races this year in AA/AT, with a turbo and EFI.

Can anyone tell me who built his engine? Is it based on the same engine Larry Morgan & Jim Cunningham use?

Also, how can it be a 97 Probe- the rulebook says 2006 and newer?

I'm thinking this guy will have an edge when Pro Stock goes to fuel injection.

He's been a Comp hitter in D6 for a long time, leasing engines from Morgan for the Pro deal. Think Perkinson was driving the car the last few events.

This is correct. No idea where the 97 Probe info comes from or who's car Perkinson is in this weekend. Awesome job by Mark to qualify in his first time out though.

Hi guys,Mark here...

They had my info from last time I tried Pro Stock in 2001.I had a 97 Probe at that time. Now it's a 2010 RJ built Mustang with Larry Morgan power. Buddy was in a new Ness Mustang that Larry will use next year.

Thanks Mark. Best of luck in Pomona. Looks like the class is going to be a bit more crowded and damn, I'd love to be there. I haven't been this interested in Pro Stock since Uncle Bob retired.

Danny you get an A plus for history. I would see Ford getting Bob Glidden involve in their CJ Stocker(a la Don Garlits). As for Mark Wolfe I totally respect this racer, here's a guy who eats, drink drag racing and probably still sleeps in his trailer full-time to race, a racer completely wrapped up in his racing, a trow back to the old school racers of old. You have to respect someone with that type of dedication to his craft. Claude Ruel
