Default Race #6 and Shoot-Out Results

ASRA was able to wrap up their 36th season on October 1st. A total of 43 races showed up for some very cool conditions at Lebanon Valley. Bob Vogel was victorious over Bob Broadbent and Ron Morehead was the sole semifinalist. Congrats to Bob Vogel for ending the season on a high note and vaulting towards the top of the point standings!

Due to a wet race track on Saturday, the Shoot-Out presented by NAPA Auto Parts was held after Race #6 was completed on Sunday. Todd Bednaz claimed victory racing under the lights by beating Dan Lynch in the final. The semi-finalists were Tim Stickles and Gregg Sutherland.

Lastly, here is a quick snapshot of the top 10 that I know everyone is very interested in seeing. Full point standings are in the works and will be posted to the ASRA website. Definitely one of the tightest battles we've seen in many years with 6 different drivers claiming wins over the course of the season. A BIG CONGRATS to Jim Whitehead for coming out on top when it was all said and done!

Default Re: Race #6 and Shoot-Out Results

I would also like to personally thank all the racer's for their patience and cooperation on Sunday. The BOD was faced with making some tough decisions with regards to getting the shoot-out in after the last race concluded. Without a doubt it was some tough conditions racing at night in cold temps with the dew setting in. Definitely less than ideal conditions but nothing that we as drag racers haven't had to deal with before in the 36 years of ASRA racing. Completion of the 4 rounds of the shoot-out was only possible because all 16 competitors were supportive and did their job to get back to the staging lanes as quickly as possible to keep the program moving. For that, I extend a big thank you!

Also, we can't overlook the support of the Lebanon Valley Staff that stuck around late to make sure we had a good and safe track to race on. Overall, given the circumstances, I think things went as well as they possible could have.
