Going drag racing
I'm new to this forum . I've been involved in racing my whole life from go carts boats and for the past 20 or so years asphalt modifieds . I have also driven some 9 second door cars and a front engine dragster deep into the 7 sec range I'm getting to old for that type of maintance and work to keep a circle track car winning . It's a 50 hr a week job . I'm thinking of a 88 t bird 3424 lbs at 190 hp is a 4 cyl with a turbo fuel injected . It should fall into the bottom of q stock . Am I crazy do you think this combo will be competive ? Any feed back will be taken seriously . Befor I buy the car . It's not going to last long so I need to do this really soon .thanks . Vinnie 78

Re: Going drag racing
Welcome! From what I have read and seen almost anything with a turbo will be competitive. I believe this combo is being ran by a couple of other racers with good luck. I believe Marty Buth and ALMACK on here have or are running similar combos. My advice is, start with a complete running car. Trying to find those little missing pieces will derail you in a heartbeat!
Good luck and have fun!!! |
