National Event Points
With NHRA only having two races with quotas over 64, Indy and Vegas2, will NHRA adjust the points for the winner of the six round race? Now the winner of the six round race will receive 105 points and the R/U 84 points, in a seven round race the winner gets the same 105 points R/U gets 94. At the end of the year a 21 point round win will be huge. Just ask Justin and Drew.

Re: National Event Points
The same phenomenon plays out at division races all the time.
I agree that it isn't perfect. If they didn't do it that way, it would severely limit the ability of a D6 or D2 racer to win a national championship. Those divisions in particular seem to have some limited fields.

Re: National Event Points
Well, I said "if they didn't do it that way." You could spend a lot of the season racing for 95 or maybe even 85 points while most of the country can get 105 at every race.
I don't have as much sympathy for the runner-up. Losing a given round is worth a given number of points. It shouldn't matter how many cars were on the property other than the small number of bonus points.

Re: National Event Points
NHRA is not going to change a rule that only helps west coast racers. Come on Larry.
Its very simple if you win a 6 round race you get 94 points if you win a 7 round race you get 105. its not anyone's fault that there are less cars in curtain divisions west of the Mississippi. If you try to explain our points system to any other form of Motorsports the first they do is laugh after you them then the guy who wins less rounds get the same points as the guy that wins one more round. But I guess it makes sense when you see what state the rules are made in. I have said for years now make all national events(But Indy) 64 car fields give them 2 qualifying shots and bring the class winner bump in back. This fix's the points problem at national events and puts some of the performance back into stk and ss. Make the quote for all the nats 75 cars and 11 guys DNQ. I know places like Denver don't have space so you would haft to adjust accordingly for 2-3 tracks. Maybe those few races are only 32 car fields and a quote of 40 cars. Now you have an eliminator with no by runs and every race is 6 rounds max so it helps NHRA with scheduling for tv time and pros and best of all it PUTS SOME PERFORMANCE BACK IN CLASS RACING. which is really what 80% of us want.
