Default ProCharger Style Blower In Super Street?

I'm thinking about a project car for Dragzine.com and wanted to see if I could use a ProCharger in Super Street?

We're kicking around building a car that can be used in multiple classes so that's why I'm asking. It will use an LSX based engine so we can run a class in the NMCA, do some index racing locally, and maybe try to see how bad we can get stomped against NHRA competition

Any help would be greatly appreciated or experience you have to offer on the subject.

The blower setup itself is legal in the Super classes .
I have seen at least one car try it in Super Gas although I don't think it was a serious attempt .
With enough dyno time and a talented tuner I see no reason it cant be done .
The only difficult area I see is boost management during the launch and throttle stop duration, and progressively bringing in after opening the throttle.
Especially if it's going to be a small tire car !

Thanks for the reply!

This project car is going to be an interesting one that will see a lot of racing with some big tires on it. I wanted to be sure that the blower would be legal for Super class racing before I made my final pitch.

Will it be super competitive I don't know, will it be fun, you bet your last gallon of race gas it will be!

Better check all the safety requirements closely. The blower changes a lot of the safety requirements.

Wagner,

Did this idea ever get off the ground?

being that he only has 2 posts, hasn't logged in in nearly 6 years, we've never heard of anyone running a procharger at all no mind competitively in S/ST, I'm saying no.

Ray butler runs some kind of under hood blower on his Malibu and won the north east super street points championship this year! He only runs a few divisional events but he is a great racer and I think he’s got it working pretty good!

Phil Unruh had a supercharged small block in his formerly Comp/SS Cobalt when he ran it in Super Street. I'm unsure if it was a ProCharger.

As is typical, he did well with it.

There is someone on the left coast that has won a few divisionals in S/ST with a blower, in a Camaro I believe.
