Default New nmca class 2017

he General Rules Committee met and we have decided to put together an entire "New Class" rules package for 2017. We realize there are many competitors with Stock and Super Stock and similar cars that would like to compete in the NMCA Championship Series but do not fit the current rules for Nostalgia Super Stock. We are looking at a 5 tenths full tree, brake out eliminator the would have the feel and design of Stock / Super Stock combo but from there it is a clean sheet of paper. We would ask that anyone interested please submit you suggest ASAP to nmcarules@promediapub.com

Heads up for like class cars, that way we will answer the question who is faster; AMC, Chevy, Ford, or mother Mopar.

Come on Larry you know they don't currently have the staff or time to police full blown STK/SS rules with heads ups, he!! NHRA can't even do it and they have had 60 plus years to get it right. let's learn to walk before we run. NMCA is a get place to race and a combo style race with no heads up to start will bring in more racers. Now if they picked one event and had class elim at that event before the main race that would be pretty cool.

Besides the hard core Class Racers are not racing anything but NHRA with there $15000-$35000 class engines. Because it's all about that mini class wally.

You would be surprised at how good their technical staff is.

How about using pro tree for heads up races?

Not having "heads up" runs is the reason independent S/SS combos around the country are surviving and even growing in numbers. The average S/SS racer is willing to travel to an event where he feels he has a chance. Allowing heads up runs will only benefit a few select racers but could keep many others from attending.

If NMCA wants their new S/SS combo to prosper, make it with no heads up runs. NMCA should also look at random pairing until the field gets down to 8 cars.

I understand NMCA Technical staff is good but why do you want to overload them.

I sent them an email suggest using best package or closest to dial from first time trial to set the ladder.

Put a dial on your car for first time run off the trailer.
Won't count if you already made a time run in any of their other classes.

I disagree Midwest class racers is one of the most successful independent groups and last I knew they still have heads up races. In my opinion once you take away heads up it is just a bracket class with lots of letters on the windows. Might as well just go run the local sportsman class save a lot of headaches.

If there's no heads up runs why try to include stock/superstock cars?? stock/superstock is a performance based class, which makes us different then some dial in bracket race class and if some other sanctioning body would take the time and effort in to enforcing and policing the rules that NHRA already has, you might have more guy's come over and run the events, JMHO
