Default Stocker Cam

Just ordered a Stocker cam from Bullet..

Going to be using the stock PCM...limited to 7000 rpm..!
Using a 8.5 inch Rear with Street Moser Axles.

Have 4.56's, guessing 5.15 or 5.38 with 30 inch tires.
Running a PerfomaBuild 4L60E with a Yank 4400PT locking Converter.

Seeking advice where to get to.

As that thing has a pretty deep first gear, I would try the 4.56 first. It will probably want a bunch more stall.

Can you put a non locking converter in a 4L60E that uses a Locking Converter?

Yes.

On the cam..What duration ? You may find that the vacuum parameters are outside of what the stock ECM likes.

Are you running a MAF sensor ? You won't have any problems putting a non-lock-up Race converter on a 4L60-e, but you will be giving up a few mph on trap speed .

Biggest problem will be the severe drop between 1st and 2nd gear. By the way, Sonnax now has the cure for that.Which will allow you to run a lower rear gear.

Hey Dan,
I talked to Charlie at ATI for my 8" non lockup for my 4l60e and Ed Wright removed the lockup from the PCM. Also, Ed said to use a 96+ PCM because a 95 won't allow a stall above 2200ish. I haven't run the car yet so can't comment on how it will run.

Anyone ever try running the lockup in third? I am curious if it helped or hurt.
