Weather station upgrade Computech vs. Altronics
I recently became inspired to purchase the best hand held weather station that pays contingency.
Has anyone here have any suggestions on these two units? Have you used them before? I know they both pay contingency and that is a good thing! https://computech.com/product/raceai...ather-station/ Vs. https://www.altronicsinc.com/racing-...ency-item.html Thank you all in advance for your advice, I do appreciate it. Re: Weather station upgrade Computech vs. Altronics
Jason I have the PerformAire unit and have been very satisfied with it. A couple years ago I bought their trailer based PC unit and am well satisfied also, I now carry the handheld unit to the staging lanes with me in case of excessive downtime where dialing might be a challenge in rapidly changing conditions. I think you would be very satisfied with it also, I've never had any experience with the Computech units.

Re: Weather station upgrade Computech vs. Altronics
The Computech looks most appealing with the trailer mounted kit and ability to log, and text you.
Does anybody know if you need to spend the extra 300 dollars for the text function? As there is a pager option but, idk if that is the same or for use with a pager.... Last edited by Jason Fuller; 03-23-2018 at 09:49 AM. |

Re: Weather station upgrade Computech vs. Altronics
I have the Altronics PC trailer based system. The price is good if you already have a laptop computer. I like the log book function and the ability to go back to get the weather at the time that you actually made the run. I did not get the page option but wish I had. You can upgrade later but the cost is more to do it that way. The ET prediction function works real good. Just remember bad info in bad info out. Overall I am happy with their system and I am not a computer guy.
