Default ss- gt classification

can you use the manual shipping weight of a car for a gt car, even if the car will be an automatic?

Default Re: ss- gt classification

The rules say to use the weight of the body used with the heaviest gasoline engine and appropriate transmission available. For my Mustang to run GT I would need to find the shipping weight of the heaviest 68 Mustang coupe with a gas engine and auto trans, then use that along with the HP rating of whatever engine I chose to use. If a body was only available as a stick I don't think you can run it with an auto.

Someone correct me.

It's confusing.
