Default BBC 454 block

I am out of the loop in ref to BBC.

My first desire is to find a nice, standard bore, four bolt, 454 block that will run standard with a.001 - .002 hone.

Beyond that, other than the original Mark IV design, what other BBC blocks will accept common BB parts

Put a torque plate on a standard bore block you will not be happy with what you see, Reseal is key in making good power.

Larry,
Good luck finding a standard bore block. Most will need 30 or more. Check NHRA accepted product for blocks BUT they're not cheap.

Larry,
The Gen 6 blocks are a lite by quite a bit, but pans, covers and lifters are different. Then the 2 piece rear seal adapter or 1 piece crank.
I assume this is just for your bracket ride.. I have a Std 4 bolt Mark IV I have Decked, align hone and ARP main studs, no fill.. Might make std on some hi limit pistons. I will check it in the morning.
I also have a short deck Gen 6 Marine. Siamese cyl. 4.53 bore, 9.780 deck, align honed w/2 piece seal adapter fitted and installed. No filler.
All machine work is fresh on both ^^^..
I have a couple new Merlins and a Brodix in stock.
You know I've got a shop full of good stuff.
Call me.
