AHFS Changes
I heard that a proposal is out there to lower the indexes .2 but to leave the trigger for AHFS the same (1.15 under). If you have any opinions on this one way or the other, probably better e mail your div rep and div director pretty quick. Jim.

Re: AHFS Changes
Go to the Lucas Oil website. Click on the news archives. Go to the march 2008 archive. Click on the NHRA sportsman council meets line item. There is a list of all of the sportsman council members and their contact information. Hopefully you are voting against dropping the indexes.
Mike

Re: AHFS Changes
Thanks for the information Mike.
Yes, I am against lowering the indexes. The older more experienced racers have long since forgotten how difficult it can be for a newcomer to run the number. We need new blood and if someone cannot be competitive reasonably quickly in S/SS they will leave class racing for E.T. never again to return. Plus lowering the number will only have the real fast guys pushing the envelope not far down the road(probably almost immediately actually). Then what. People need to think long term with regards to this problem. An index drop will not solve anything with regards to this. Allan |
