Default Dave Lebrun/ Alan Peters Memorial Race

I know that I'm not an All Star member and don't really have the time off from work to join this year. I would like to see a Memorial Race for these two. Would there be any interest in the BOD moving the June 22 race to May 12 the same weekend as the single race at Epping or another date. And have a memorial race on June 22 at Lebanon Valley. If there is an interest and done right I'll put up one thousand to the winner and five hundred to the runner up. I'm sure if you promoted it you could get a lot more money than that added to the pot. Along with track money. That way your Sunday June 23 race could end up being one of your largest turnouts ever. Dave and Alan were two great racers and friends to most of us. With this being the weekend before the Lebanon Divisional it could turn out to be a great race. Let me know what you all think. Thanks Barry

Barry , love the thought . Both racers were icon's to d1 racing and NHRA . I' m sure a Memorial race in there honor would be very well attended. However the BOD will have to look at it and try to find a date . May 12th is Mothers day and that surely won't work. Give us some time.Let us get together as a board to discuss the thought.

Mark, Thanks for looking at this. I have already had several other calls to offer support. Others are also willing to put up time or money to make this happen. I get the date thing. Like you I have been at this game a long time. With NHRA treating us like they have the last several years I'm sure most of you have asked yourself, why do we do this? For me, and I would hope most others, it's the people involved. We are one big family. We may have our moments at times with each other, but there is no greater social event that I would want to be part of. Lets get this race done. Thanks again Barry

This would be amazing, and I know my dad (and all of us) would love it.

Since our cups are full this season. Can we just use one of the asra already on the books at LVD? Than next year we can plan on a day. Maybe the Thursday before the LVD divisional? Most racers are there anyway. Some are still working I know but call out or something. Just one suggestion. tks.

There was some discussion about Dave LeBrun memorial decals at the rules meeting. It could be in the works.
A memorial race is a must, it’s up to the BOD how they want to handle it.

I was at the Alan Peter's celebration of his life today. I was approached by another person that said they would put in money for this race. BP
