Default Dedenbear Lightning Plus Delay Box

Trying to set up my timers in the Pro setting but for some reason I cannot get Stop A to turn on. When its not in the Pro setting (red LED light on) both timers are set to on. I have read the instructions but cannot figure out how to turn the Timer A on in the Pro setting.

Looks like you need to be in Pro mode, then press the StopA button until you get to the Starting Line Control settings. Then press and hold the RSET button a few times until the screen says Start Line Control Turned Off.

I have a Dedenbear box in my SST car but don't have a SLE in that.

I do use a SLE when running SC in my dragster, and I like it. I stage with my foot to the floor, and it goes to wide open throttle when I set the transbrake button. That's with a Mega box; not sure if the Dedenbear does that or how to make it happen.

Next week at work I'll pull up the instructions again.

Looks like you will need to run the starting line enhancer from the STOPA output, and your throttle stop controller from the STOPB output.

Your STOPA setting will need to be set to START LINE CNTRL PRESTAGE for Pro Tree racing. When in this setting, you would press the bump-down button when pre-staged, or a little before. Then you can put your foot to the floor and finish the staging process. Once both you and your opponent are fully staged, push the transbrake button and the car will go wide open throttle automatically.

When bracket racing, you would use the STOPA setting of START LINE CNTRL TIMED: 1.000. You can use any duration of time you like, but I use 1 second in my car. Same staging procedure but the car will go wide open throttle 1.000 seconds before the transbrake releases.

Ahh ok I see, but currently the car is set up for STOP B to control the shift and STOP A to control the Throttle Stop. So im not sure if I could even use the SLE feature.

I have the same set up and I use a separate timer for the shift. I only tried the SLC a few times on Pro Tree and find the car wants to move around (rock) so I only use it in bracket mode for full tree.

When you say separate timer for the shift, you are referring to an entire different timer box correct?

What do you do differently when staging without the SLC to make it not rock?

If you're giving it a little RPM for more transmission pump pressure, you can adjust the length of the SLC so that even when it goes limp it will give you just a fuzz more RPM when your foot is to the floor.

Yes, you can use some other method of controlling the shift if you really want to use a SLC. Something like these:

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ded-st1/overview/

https://www.jegs.com/i/Biondo/376/DDI-1068/10002/-1

I'd highly recommend the Biondo box if you go this route, since it can do RPM or time and the cost is equal.

If you are using a MSD Digital 7 or Grid ignition, you can control the shift directly from that too.
