Default Stock Eliminator Head Repair

Is it legal to repair a stocker head? I had a rod break, the piston came up and hit the head and cracked it inbetween the intake and exaust ports, about 1 inch down and 1/2 to 3/4 inch long on both sides. Water leaks like crazy. This head was done buy Tom Boucher so I would like to save it if possible. Tim Barrett H/SA 1925

Tim,
You are probably out of luck on that repair, even if it was a super stock head that allowed porting, cast iron repair is tough to do. A friend of mine that races SS just had one fixed by a professional and it didn't last.

On an unrelated note, the ASRA race that rained out a coupe of weeks ago will be run this Saturday at Lebanon. You are still in I believe, bring your rain check, they will probably start at 9 am.
