Page 54 of the 2007 Rulebook, defines the currently operative criteria for carburetor use. Reference the sentence that defines the use or replacement carburetors. The blueprint page lists the carb venuri/throttlebore sizes for eligible Quadrajet carburetors under footnote 7, (1375x2250/1093xAV). There are many Quadrajet numbers that were made with these sizes. For example, compare the sizes listed for the 255 horsepower, 350, with those listed for the 325 horsepower, 396. Compare these numbers with the sizes listed for other years. You'll find that there are many numbers that are legal for use in Quadrajet applications in Stock or Super Stock Eliminator.

Price? Typically, you get what you pay for. Contact several sources and make a choice: Dean Oliver, Danny Ashley, Val Hedworth, and many others sell prepared Quadrajets.

I have personal experience and dyno experience with Dean Oliver and Danny Ashley, Both quality builders, both very experienced, and in my opinion, their prices are in-line with the market.

I do not have the phone numbers here at home, do a search for the above names, you'll find several post about each of then that will have a phone number.

Just to add to the information above, you are not limited to a Chevy style Q-Jet. Permissable are the ones for Buick, Olds, and Pontiac as long as they meet the venturi and throttle bore dimensions as Chuck said. I reccommend to my customers that they stay away from 1968 and earlier Quadrajets because these use a large float which decreases the bowl volume. The "hot ticket" lately is a rare Pontiac Q-Jet that was available only one year. They are rather pricey if you can find one. I have a number of racers that will be testing these this season so time will tell if they are worth the extra expense. Danny
