Re: F150 5.0 vs F250 6.2 for towing
Thanks for the replies everyone...Looks like the a '14 6.2 Super Duty is in our near future. Just have to decide between crew or super crew cab to go with the 6' box.
This will primarily be the tow vehicle with other occasional uses. Thanks again for all the feedback.

Re: F150 5.0 vs F250 6.2 for towing
I get 12 to 13 miles to the canadian galllon. Which would equate to 10 to 11 miles to the American gallon. Cruise control set at 70 mph. Last time I had it on the scales truck and loaded trailer weighed 14600 pounds.

Thanks for the reply. I can live with that. My 11' Silverado with a 5.3 would only get about 6 mpg towing at 70 mph

Re: F150 5.0 vs F250 6.2 for towing
I had a 2008 5.3 GMC Sierra Crew Cab. I got around 8 mpg towing with it driving 60 to 65 mph. I never felt overly comfortable leaving it on cruise as it wanted to rev too high. It was a 7000 GVW truck.
