Nice hobby Ed, along with some nice firearms.

Looking at your collection makes me regret selling my M1 Garand, and your collection is one to envy for sure.

Careful shopping will get you a good Garand for around $700.An M1 A1 (Civilian M14)
will set you back $800 and up.

A regular visitor at my work place and relative of the owner of the company.....had a MINT M-1. He sold it for around $1500...

He brought it in for me to hold once. That was a really nice gun but pretty heavy. Lugging that around along with your other gear had to be tough in the war years...

My brother was in the Nat. Guard in the 50's.....He used to bring me empty shell casings....hid them in his gloves.....He also told me about "M-1 Thumb"....

I love the sound they make when they eject the clip...

Ed I almost got into gun collecting myself many years ago....I should have.

I prefer hand guns.......have a few rifles.....and used to go shooting a lot and shot Trap....

An indoor range just opened up a mile from my home.
Some guys I work with have been going there to shoot and I have to get there myself soon to join them....

Ed - I'm surprised they let you have guns in the People's Republic of New Jersey (Not that the People's Repbulic of Massachusetts is any better!).

You just have to jump over hurdles and run throgh hoops. And of course every transaction
rifle/handgun has to go through a Fed Firearms Licensee at anywhere from $40 and up.
I have a good one who lets me go through the NICS check with more than one for the set fee ($42).I might be working for him P/T if things develop.
Good luck to you this year Bob.Safe and happy trails.
