Racers stay married because their spouses are as dedicated to the sport as they are and many make it a family affair.

By the way, there are racers that in addition to driving, they also work on the car, not just driving.

As regards to the Wescott family financial affairs, unless they are asking you for money, I believe it is nobody's business.

The Wescott's are hard working and successful racers that have demonstrated many times they can make power and win races.

LOL! Sorry you got your panties all wadded up!

Condescending statements? I do not patronize anyone.

However, when you start talking about "Ego's", marriage issues due to racing and financial stability of racers, you are not only directing this to the Wescott family, but also to the integrity and principles of the Class Racer's community.

We all know and are aware of the time and financial costs of our madness.

Nevertheless, I don't see others asking how did they pay or how could they could afford buying a COPO, CobraJet or DP race car.

Also, when I go to the track, I see lots of racers having lots of fun and race interaction with their wife's, kids and relatives.

In a nutshell, I believe the initial questions were unwarranted.

In the context of this thread , of which all my replies are.......I asked the question about Wescott , not that it matters , honestly , I could care less........but since he came UP and has more than his share of "nutswingers".........and I had seen nothing of an engine building business , which prompted the simple question ........what does this guy do for a living , as I can't imagine drag racing pays the bills.....and there's no indication that he has an engine business..........which brought the question and exactly the kind of replies I anticipated. You guys are too easy and predictable.....Geezus , lighten up.
.........ask me what I do for a living , I'd be happy to tell.........big deal.

Yeah , its cool that guys like them exist , but at what price? Frankly , I dont see how any of them stay married.
The guys that really have it made are the ones who just drive ( read that Coughlin and so on ) .
Does anyone know what the Wescotts real business is?
Obviously the money came from somewhere..........JC.
I disagree, at least in the group I run around with do not have egos at all. We love the competition and love searching for HP and ET. In my circle these guys and their family's would give you the shirt off their back and help you with any problem you may have.
There are some with large egos yes. But there are some people like that everywhere you go.
My wife supports me racing whole heartedly. We have a budget as to what we spend on racing and we stick to it.
How anyone makes or spend their money is no one buisness but their own.

I like Larry Morgan, I'm pulling for CW and I'm a big Pro-Stock fan.

I think many guys who appreciate Stock & S/S racing like Pro Stock because its a 500 cube max with no power adders, so its a real thinkers and thrashers class. Classes like Pro Mod are unlimited, so a 900 cube engine with 4 stages of nitrous, or big blowers or turbos, and often silly looking bodys and paint jobs may wow the kids and non car people, but personally I think its more like a monster truck /sideshow act, with not very many close side by side runs. They do build engines for several Stock and Super Stock cars. Hemi's, Chevy and they have done some Cobra Jet Modular Fords.
