Jeremy;
I'm sorry that we couldn't get a alternator for them last night. I could tell that they really were hoping to be home last night instead of spending the night in Ocala. By that time of night on a Sunday every possible place had closed up. Please post and let us know that they arrived home safe. Thanks. Hey Dan Moore, you're #1. RIP Mark Graham

Re: Attention Jim Waibel Broken Down in North Florida
I wish he would have stayed broke down! Especaily after the srewing he gave a lot of us Stock/Super Stock racers over the years back in the 70s and 80s that had work done by him and his cousin Terry.
I had several shortblocks done by him that did not last 75 runs. I personally know of two other racers that Waibel did their heads illegally and when they beat him in elminations he would protest the win saying " I know the car is illegal as I did the heads". I was present when Waibel said this at the inspection area at Bradenton,Florida. I have satisfaction that he WILLGO TO HELL ! Dave Bunch Racing and Restoration Services |

Re: Attention Jim Waibel Broken Down in North Florida
Jeremy;
I am so glad to know that they arrived home safe. Again, I'm sorry that we couldn't get them back on the road Sunday night, but after he told me the route that he would take home I must say it was probably best that the truck quit where it did near Ocala. Taking a chance on going down Hwy. 471 with that uncertainty at night would not have been the best idea. In the end it all worked out for the best, and that's what is important. In the time I have been involved in racing the most valuable thing I have gained is the loyal friendship of the different racers I have met. A few years ago I was talking with Tom "The Old Man" Ward and we agreed that the friends we have both gained through racing are the ones you can count on anytime you find yourself in a bind. This might be stretching it a little, but I believe one could count on my low-life scum bag friend Dan Moore even. Hey Dan Moore, you're #1. RIP Mark Graham

Re: Attention Jim Waibel Broken Down in North Florida
That is pretty bad to kick a man when he is down.
I don't know you or Jim. But I do know several people in Louisiana that had Waibel engines in the 70s and they were all record holders checked by Red Anderson or Wesley. With that being said why would you have several short blocks built by him. I would have had two. The first one and the last one. Greg |

Mr. Bunch, I am Jim Waibel's son Jeremy. With that being said, I 'm not going to be on either side. Not only was I a kid at this time there is obviously nothing I can say to change your opinion of my dad. As far as bringing my Uncle Terry into this, I dont feel that is appropriate. Just wanted to let you know in case you were not informed that we lost Terry almost 3 years ago now. Opinions are one thing, however; when you say that he "will go to hell"; this I do have an issue with. My Bible says no man can enter the kingdom of heaven except throungh the Lord Jesus Christ. My dad knows he is right with God as was Terry at the time of his death. I am sorry about your experience with him and to be upset is your right. When I posted this I was not thinking about racing for one second , I was asking the family of racing to help my 70 year old mom and dad and their "little" doggie that were stranded on the side of the road. Thank you to the "rescue rangers" and hope to see you at the races. Jeremy Waibel NHRA B/SA K&N 69 camaro STK2231 |
