thank you so much mr. rice, i grew up with bill and he did my machine work for my race cars way back then. i lived in jacksonville n.c. in 1976-77 and drag raced there with you guys on friday night, saturday night and sunday afternoon at coastal plains, holly ridge, kinston and roxboro. i was in the marine corps and raced with bobby warren(i always wanted one of his cars), the williams's, alan robinson from alan's high performance in j-ville, floyd fillenger, ronnie yopp, and on and on, it was the best time i had in racing. thanks again.

There is going to be a "Legends" race at Kinston Nov. 14. Must be 50 years old to enter.

Mr. Rice - by chance would you have any old photo's from Sanford Dragstrip - looking for a white '57 panel wagon that ran in that area in the 70's.

I'm sorry, I don't have any pics from Sanford but I am always looking. There was a gentleman by the name of Bill Peters on the Yahoo Stk/SS group that had some pics from Sanford but I haven't heard from him in years. Who owned the sedan delivery? The only one I know of was the Odell Lee car but I thought it was red. I think David Surles also owned that car and he also bought Garley Daniels' sedan delivery which was black after Garley beat him at Jacksonville one Saturday night.

My Dad and his partner @ the time. They use to own the speed shop @ the bottom of the hill when you left the dragstrip and turned right. Ricky Lawton & Nicky LaSalvia. If not mistaken they bought it from Surles. What about Fayetteville - they ran their and Dunn/Benson when Dallas Parker had the track. Thanks! OH, IT WAS WHITE!

The only pictures I have from Fayetteville are some I took at a points meet there in '77. I'll keep an eye for pictures of your dad's car.
