Monte Baker '68 Nova
Saw on Drag Race Central a '68 Nova running G/SM at D5 race. Don't think I have seen a car like this in Super Mod ever. Anyone have a picture of this car? My son would like to see it. Thanks

Re: Monte Baker '68 Nova
Ed,
Take a look at at Div 5 photographer's site: www.egleye.com (Barry Bergeron) I am sure there would be some pics there. It would be cool if there were more of the older cars in Comp/Modified - just can't compete with the light small cars. Maybe if there was a weight break.... Jason

Re: Monte Baker '68 Nova
Thanks for the pics guys. Monte what engine do you run? Have you run this car for awhile or is it a new combo. We run a Super Stocker and my son has a 70' Nova that he wants to do something different with. Running comp with a 70' Nova certainly would be different. Expensive as well. Ed

Re: Monte Baker '68 Nova
Engine is a 291 with an old set of 13 degree heads. I have owned the car eight years. We raced here in Bethany lbs/cid no break out, but track isn't open this year.
I have also ran some IHRA in SSPF1. We would go out to try an set the record, I'm just not much on bracket racing. SM is not really the place for an non aero car, but it's the only class I can run with no break out. We have an old car and out dated induction, but we'll run as fast as we can every pass down the track. If we get it right she should run 1 or 2 under. At least I don't have to worry about a CIC. Thanks for the interest. Monte |

Trans is a G Force G5R, just pulled the sinter iron 11" Ram and put a 8" Billet Hays in. We'll test at Eddyville this Sat, if it doesn't rain.
