Default MA .90 Points Battles heat up at Cecil County Aug 29th

The Mid Atlantic .90 Series fires back up and heads south to Cecil County Dragway on August 29th & 30th for the 2nd Annual Northeast Showdown at the County. Once again the series will pack a weekend full of .90 Racing. This event will feature Super Comp, Super Gas & Super Street on both days along with the Cecil County Bracket program on Sunday. Everyone is welcomed to come play with us and we welcome members and non-members.

Since 1993 Cecil County has played host to the series but, it was only in 2014 that the track re-joined the series for an added second weekend. With only 4 events left in the 2015 season the Championship Battles are heating up. In Super Comp, Kevin Scholl has pretty much dominated this season but, an early exit at Race # 6 at Atco opened the door for #2 in points Ash Senft and Rookie of the year candidate Nick Pierson who both claimed victory at the Atco events and find themselves nipping away at Scholls lead. In Super Gas, it's been a heated battle between Earl Nichols Jr. & Iggie Boicesco. Nichols & Boicesco have both claimed victories this season but, it's Nichols two runner-up's that have propelled him into the points lead by 35 points over Boicesco. George Stack & MASGA Rookie Sean Lang are closely behind and can strike at any moment. Rounding out the three series is Super Street. So far Division 1 points leader Keith Mayers has played havoc on the rest of the field with 2 victories and a runner-up but, Marty Ganjoin is right on his heels and is not going to make it easy for Mayers to win his second straight championship. Bernie Staub & Jay Neville are in 3rd & 4th and could play a big roll into the final outcome.

For those wishing to get in and set-up early gates will be open beginning at 5pm on Friday the 28th (weather permitting). There will be a test & tune starting at 6pm till 10:30pm. Gates will then re-open at 8am on both Saturday and Sunday with racing beginning at 9am with an open T&T till 10am on Saturday and around 11am on Sunday following Junior Dragsters & Super Pro. A new procedure has been put into place for the remainder of the season and a "Run Card" is required to be purchased from Rob Keister to make any qualifying runs. If you do not have a "Run Card" you will NOT make any passes down the track with the Mid Atlantic .90 Series. If you chooses to run the tracks T&T please refer to the tracks designated lanes. For more info e-mail Rob @ rekeister@aol.com or visit www.midatlantic90.com
