Default Hard Cards?

Hard Cards available to Sportsman and Pro Mod national event competitors

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4/28/2010

NHRA announced today that hard cards will be made available to Sportsman and Pro Mod competitors attending NHRA National Events. The hard card will take the place of your paper credential and will act as a Restricted Area Pass.

The hard card will be printed with a barcode and will only be active for the national event you are registered for. The amount of hard cards made available will be based on a competitor's paid entry or Gold, Silver, Bronze card status. The table below is a breakdown of available hard cards by category.

To apply for a hard card please email NHRA sportsmanhardcard@nhra.com and provide your name, membership number, car number and mailing address. A hard card application and waiver will be sent to you. It should be noted the application must be completed, the waiver needs to be notarized, a passport photo supplied and method of payment for the $100 processing fee.

Good Luck with the track personnel recognizing and taking the card.
It took them several events to recognize the printed credentials when that was implemented or at least that was my experience.
Plus its cost of $100 in processing?
Oh yeah it is NHRA.
My 2 Cents

Rick, you beat me to it. I was just going to write something about this.

What is the point behind this exactly? Why do I want to pay $100 just to look cool because I have a hard card? Am I missing something? From the information I have seen, there would no reason for anyone to get one of these.

Anyone want to put money on how long before we're all required to have $100 hard cards?

Jason, I would not take that bet.
My expectation would be to get the treatment/enhancement of our Competition License for with the same type of bar coding and have one card do it all for a enhanced price of the License.
One more way to take our $$$$$ by NHRA.
My 2 Cents
