Re: Speeds in S/G
I'm gonna go against the grain here and say that being 9.90 at 170 (or even 165) isn't completely all it's cracked up to be from my experience.
I'm one of the higher speed cars in Super Street. When I decided (=Dad let me) run Super Gas in 2008, I was now one of the slower cars in the class. I ran 7 races in SST and 5 races in SG. I won more rounds in SG in 2 fewer races. Why? The car performed great with only a half a second of stop. In one weekend, I had all 8 or 9 runs within 9.88 and 9.93. I wish I could get that consistency in SST and I used to blame the car but it seems like having so much time in the stop made it inconsistent. So I'm not saying that going 9.90 at 170 is a stupid idea but the other extreme isn't all bad. Kelli 1236 S/ST 1836 S/G

Re: Speeds in S/G
Ryan Dillman
There should not be any reason Why you can not run your tank in the back of your roadster and use an electric pump with an alcohol carburetor. We have done so. Components are MagnaFuel pro Star 500 Pump 12 AN to the Pump, 10 AN sized line all the way to the Large two port MagnaFuel regulator, regulated at 6.5 psi Max into 8AN size to a 1050 George Rupert prepared 1050 Dominator. Your roadster is probably a little bit lighter than we are and there should not be any problems. You'll like the extra torque from using alcohol and the cooling of the motor is lovely. Just follow everything that George Rupert tells you to do. Mainly don't mess with the carburetor unless you call him first. He is a real good man.
