Bel Air and and Biscayne roof line same as Impala...
Caprice is different, squared off.
Impala and Caprice six tail lights.
Bel Air and Biscayne are four.

It doesn't matter, Biscayne, Belair or Impala are all O/P/Q.

1969 Impala at Moroso West Palm Beach, FL November 1988
Temp was 85 Degrees, clear low(er) humidity day.
That was cool for South Florida.

This was the Impala's best ever run at 12.80 104 mph.
Never got a cold weather run out of it.
Index was 13.05, dropped from 13.15, from 13.36

Natural L, added weight to run M/SA.
Engine by Woodro Josey. Lunati Blue Print Cam
Back then could drop a class but not go up.
Won Points meet at WPB in 1983, Paul Forte won SS.

Engine rated at 280hp.
Weighed 4150 lbs.
Used street gas.
No Roll Bar required.

This car would have fit IHRA G/PS rules.

I don't know how to post pictures.....

But if you Google Dave Boertman's Biscayne....

You'll see his car that won big in 1970...…He won the first Summernationals held at York and was World Champ, I think with it....

Yellow 2 dr sedan.....N/SA and a 350/255

Many very successful racers jumped on that engine combo....

No way it was 40 hp lower than a 10-1 engine.....and they knew it....

It became one of the most popular engine combos in Stock and SS for years and years and won many many races.....

They must have made a lot of 441 heads cause they are still out there and were only used for 1 year on 350's....

They did put them on some 1970 cars including some 400's IIRC but with different exhaust valves and steam holes......I think !

Cool Re: 350/255 Chevy

Dan, I would check on roller cams & lifters in Stock class ??? Only if they came with those cars... Also remember there's a Big drop on running a 2bbl vs a 4bbl Q-jet ??? Talk to Billy & Marc & Bruce Noland about running 2bbl cars ???? They can help you !!

This car was originally owned by Bob LaSala.
He ran it with the 300hp engine in J/SA.

Had a hard time making it run the index until Woodro built the engine.
