Default Stock Entry at Vegas

Most likely like a bunch of others I am locked out of Vegas 1 due to the quota scam. If anybody plans to drop and would like to help an old man in a Mopar get into the show please give me a call at (909) 438-1345. Mark Kirby

I'm curious as to why provisional entries enter way before the deadline? Is there a different procedure to enter as a provisional vs regular entry? I will be dropping Vegas (lottery hopes didn't work out) and I was going to drop to help a friend out with another friend in line for it. I was literally just a few minutes too late to help my 2nd in line guy out.

Are the provisional entries past world champions and that race champion? How long does the provisional entry last - a year, 5 years, forever?? If so, didn't they earn the right to enter when they want?...

Sure they have that right but why do that when it keeps other racers from being able to enter. I thought maybe there was extra processes to go through if they waited to enter until after the class was full. Just didn't know. I don't think provisional entries should count towards the quota anyway but since it does....... I'll take Dan's answer since he's got the most provisionalist experience.

They do need update their system, to allow a provisional racer such as Dan to enter whenever he wishes, and not effect the quota. I don't think that is rocket science.

Maybe a asterick next to his name, indicating his entry doesn't count towards the quota. As it is now, the provisional racers wait in order to register to be nice towards the quota racers. If they wait too long, NHRA doesn't care, no go....don't care if the field is 1/3 full, no go, which is a business practice few could pull off.

When is the provisional deadline? I thought the deadline was the same for everyone. I'm still learning.

Yes, everyone has the same deadline.

I seem to recall Dan writing a story or something about forgetting one time.
