Midwest Classracers at Onawa!

MCR will be hosting a one day S/SS combo race at the new track in Onawa, Iowa on October 13th. $1,000 to win, $500 runner-up, $250 semis.
I raced at Onawa once this summer, and it is hands-down the smoothest track I've driven on. It is, for now, eighth mile racing. That being said, it's formerly a runway so there is plenty of concrete for quarter mile racing, and the plan is to do that as soon as funds allow.
Tentatively, gates will open at 10am with Q1 around 11:00. I will update this thread with more info as we get closer. For track info, check out http://www.onawaracing.com

WEATHER ISSUES FORCE CANCELLATION OF REMAINING 2018 SEASON SCHEDULE

Mother Nature has been difficult to deal with during most of the season at the Onawa Racing and Events Complex (OREC). That trend has continued into this fall with a tremendous amount of rain and for the most part very cool temperatures. Based on the ground conditions and overall long-range weather forecast, officials have decided to cancel the remaining 2018 events.

“It’s in the best interest of everyone to call it a season and regroup for 2019” said OREC board president Phil Schroder.

Plans for 2019 are well underway which include upgrading the pit parking area. The OREC board of directors are committed in making the racer and fan experience the best they can and facility improvements are on the top of the list.
