Re: Torque Converter who do you use
Most of the guys out there that do S/SS stuff, provide a good product.
But seeing you're here on Class Racer, asking this question, I would suggest starting at the top of this page.

We have been customers of Turbo Action since 1977. I highly suggest considering them also.

Re: Torque Converter who do you use
There is a ATI in the Amx, Amc / Chrysler transmission. Trans now has 250 runs on it. There was a problem at 45 runs, trans and converter came out. Trans was fine, ATI found nothing with the converter, reassembled and everything has worked flawless since. I have also used Dynamic in other applications with good results

ATI since 2010 in my bracket glide. Zero issues, several track series championships.
I sourced mine through Rinehart Performance and saved a bit vs going direct... You still get the same 1-time free re-stall if want a change, etc... Clark |

Re: Torque Converter who do you use
All great companies mentioned here. The key is finding the right fit to work with you on your program and what works best for your combo and collected data , as each combo is different. Listening to the racer is very important, as there is no substitute for seat of the pants! Again, you can not go wrong with any of the mentioned companies.

Re: Torque Converter who do you use
wow i definitly appreciate the info and all the response. i will say i don't have a dyno sheet on this motor, and it will probably not be dynoed until its in the car. my curiosity is would a rear wheel dyno sheet help a converter company spec a converter? i have a couple converters that aren't right for the combo but they could be used for a couple dyno pulls if the info would help the converter company get closer.

Re: Torque Converter who do you use
I have never used a Chassis dyno but all my engines are put on a engine dyno before I get them. Lenny/Ultimate worked with me on the dyno sheets and came up with the right converter, stall and shift points the first time out based on my engine dyno sheets. Don't know if you can get peak HP and torque on a chassis dyno to figure out stall???? Some one may have experience with that?
Keep doing your homework, tons of great information available here on CR. Engine and chassis dyno's are tool, you have to go down the track to improve and be consistent. Good luck.
