The Mid Atlantic Super Gas Association will close out it's 2009 season at Atco Raceway on August 15th & 16th. The gates for both days will open at 9am and racing will start shortly after. There will be no Jr. Dragsters or Super Pro that day due to the $10,000 & 5,000 to win Footbrake race that runs Saturday and Sunday. Saturday will consist of MASGA and the $ 10,000 Footbrake race and Sunday is MASGA, Nostalgia Stock/Super Stocks and the $5,000 to win footbrake race. The entry fee into the track for each day is $35.00 dollars and $ 70.00 paid to Lucky at his trailer. The purse is $1,000 to the winner based on a 32 car field and is open to any 9.90 Super Gas/Rod car. This will be a great test and tune for anyone who is heading to Maple Grove August 19th to 23rd for the Toyo Tires Nationals. As far as parking goes, at the previous race at Atco we set up on the cold side of the track and ran out of the staging lanes there (normally where the TA/D, Comp, T/S come out from) and that seemed to be a good set-up so if we could do that again that would be great.

Going into the final races of the season Earl Nichols will hold a 54 point lead over Maple Grove winner Delany Richardson. In a close battle for 3rd Lance Kreiger holds a 1 point lead over George Donhauser and sitting in 5th is Numidia winner Bob Phillips. The rest of top 10 is also very tightly packed with Mike Lauria in 6th, 1 point ahead of the chop-top Oldsmobile of Derek Clark. Tom Goldman sits about 1 round behind Clark and Lauria and in 9th is defending champion Iggie Boicesco who still has a race in hand to claim. Rounding out the top ten is Pete Luciano and his Lucky's Lady 68 Camaro but, his spot is not safe as George Smith and Rob Keister sit 1 point out of 10th. See who is crowned the 2009 MASGA Champion at Atco Raceway next weekend.....
