I just bought a 1975 I/SA Nova.Im new to class racing,but have bracket raced for years.What fuel do most Stock Eliminator Cars run.

It seems to me that Sunoco Purple may be one of the more stable and consistent fuels available. I haven't kept a running tab, but it seems periodic problems crop up with several of the other brands, even when bought at the track! The only time my fuel hasn't passed fuel check was when I couldn't get a drum before leaving for a race and bought "something" that was purple after the a--holes at the local speed shop said was Sunoco.

You have to run one of the fuels from NHRA's approved fuel list, check their website. With a low compression engine, any of the stock approved fuels will work, but it's best to stick with a brand that is sourced from a place convenient for you, and stick with it, sometimes the optimum jetting and fuel curve will differ if you switch brands. I prefer Rockett brand 111, it's cheaper that VP (which is always available at NHRA events), and I have never had a fuel check problem with it. The higher octane fuels have not shown any gain in my car.
Check for sources in your area (the local speed shops will know who they are), and purchase 5 gallon drums to carry if you don't want to use VP at the track. (By the way, VP sportsman fuel is not always available, but I have never had a problem finding C11 or C12)

C11 is always available and I have never an issue at fuel check. Fattened up a little and mine runs quicker with it.

just a fyi ,,once you have your combo put together and you have the option to dyno ,try different octane race fuels you might find some horse power ,,,, gmonde

Rockett 111 will have enough octane for a 1975 and work well. Oxygenated fuels aren't allowed like the Rockett 100. Some useful info is on their website:
http://www.rockettbrand.com/ If you run a stock gas tank, it would be best to seal it off during storage so volatiles won't evaporate, possibly causing you to fail fuel check. For example a non vented cap, and a shut off valve in the vent hose at the tank. |

Mine is fuel injected. +5% @ WOT is what mine liked. Close to one MPH.
