A little more info on the car would help, but the first thing I would recommend doing is checking the pedal ratio. ........This is especially critical when converting from power to manual brakes. ......It is especially a problem on late F bodies , where the stock pedal ratio is only about 4 to 1. ........ You need a pedal ratio of about 6, 61/2 to 1 to generate enough pressure for a typical brake system.. .......I'v always used te Strange /Mopar type cylinder with a 1 3/16" bore. .... Quay , FJ Smith and others make an adapter plate to adapt to the existing GM mount ,and it also offsets the center upward to locate the pushrod closer to the correct point on the pedal. .........Don't forget to install a stop bolt to prevent the pushrod from coming out of the master cyl., A few of our forum members can tell you stories about unplanned trips to the gravel pit when that happens!. ........Tom
