Congratulations Drew Skillman on your Gatornational FSXX Win
I had the opportunity to attend the 50th annual Gatornationals and witnessed what was probably the most impressive race ever for Factory Showdown.
Congratulations to Drew Skillman for his impressive string of rounds in the 7.70s that led to his win over Stephen Bell. Every round of qualifying and eliminations had great racing, phenomenal performances and excitement with each pair of cars that went down the track. They were wheelstands, cars spun as they tried in vain to make it into the show, upsets, a near dead heat and even out an unfortunate spin by one of the cars that grazed the wall. It’s obvious that both Chevy and Ford worked hard on their programs over the winter along with the teams who tested and flogged the cars. All of which led to record setting performances in a field that was nearly 3 tenths quicker than last year. Hats off to the Skillman team who have now won both of the first 2 Factory Showdown events of the 2019 season. I also learned that Geoff Turk has parked his 7-second Challenger and not only will be soon racing a new Cobra Jet but is assisting Carl Tasca and Randy Eakins with their CJs. Both of those guys have really stepped up and it sounds like Turk is behind that. |
