Default $1000 to win this Saturday at TNT Super Series double-header!

.
The Second City presents Victoria Day weekend event!

Double event weekends have become very popular in the Joe's Transmission TNT Super Series and this coming Victoria Day weekend is no different. Cayuga Dragway at Toronto Motorsports Park will host races two and three in the 2010 TNT points chase on May 22-23.

Presented by The Second City Toronto on Mercer Street, the 10.90 heads-up series is guaranteeing $1000 to win on Saturday night and at least $500 to win on Sunday. That, along with the round money and specialty awards have become the standard in the southern Ontario / western New York based sportsman series.

Last year's weekend saw Jamie Stoneman of Cheektowaga, New York win both events. Currently sitting eighth in the 2010 points after just one race, Jamie will be looking to repeat his dominating performance and take over the points lead.

Second City's Roy Lister of Welland, Ontario is a TNT Super Series regular. "We like this deal and support it any chance we get," he commented. Roy used to run the sand drags in the early 1970's and then took some time off to raise a family. Now thanks to his wife, Tara and good friend, Rob Carpenter, he's back at it. "Rob introduced me to Joe Fioravanti and several others who rekindled the passion. The TNT series allows me to sharpen some old rusty skills and meet some great new friends in the process. I'm proud and excited to be a part of it all."

Roy's current ride is a 1968 Camaro SS with a 406 cid Bowtie built by Fioravanti. "The highlight of my racing career so far is winning the Molson Super Stock Sand Drag Championship in 1977."

The Second City has launched the careers of some the biggest names in show business. Gilda Radner, Joan Rivers, Dan Akroyd, Bill Murray, John Belushi, Martin Short, Alan Alda, Shelly Long, Tina Fey, Mike Myers, Eugene Levy and John Candy are but a handful of the alumni of The Second City. SCTV Network was an Multi Emmy Award winning show developed and produced by The Second City along with various movies and TV shows. With live theatres in Toronto, Detroit, Chicago and Los Angeles, they are celebrating 50 years this year of making people laugh with satirical sketch comedy. With partner Roy Lister participating in the exciting TNT Hot Rod class, The Second City Toronto on Mercer Street is proud to sponsor the Victoria Day event at Toronto Motorsports in Cayuga and look forward to a fun filled weekend.

The Joe's Transmission TNT Super Series will be joined this weekend by rounds in the PMRA Pro Modified Series, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series and the Can-Am Stock/Super Stock Series. Visit www.torontomotorsportspark.com for complete weekend details.
