Default W.A. Lee

For those of us that are old enough and remember him. There is a good picture of him in my sticky note for the Dave LeBrun Alan Peters Memorial Race. He was a different bird but really did a great job with Q-Jets in his day. He would never sell me or my brother one years ago because we were friends with his ex partner in a race car. The man could flat out drive too. Barry

WA. / Willy worked out of the ARCO station across from my dads Mobil station in Chicopee Ma. I have never seen anyone to this day work so hard on a race car. There was never a night I closed our station at 10pm that Willy wasn't still working on that wagon. I was bracket racing back then . It was WA , Ray Litty ,Dick Levreault that made me fall in love with class racing ! Man as a kid I thought there was NOTHING cooler than that . .. I remember going to the Grand Nationals with WA and Ray Litty . PRICELESS .

I have lots of good memories from traveling all over div. 1 with him when I was just a teenager including the year he won the div. 1 championship. ( I think it was 1975 or 76).Carrying water jugs to cool the car, taking off the tow hubs and tow bar since he flat towed all those years. I could go on and on. He was an amazing man.

There was always excitement whenever him and Tex Miller were in the Staging lanes. No love lost there. Barry
