Default Winch suggestions

Looking to upgrade my trailer with a winch for loading/unloading my stocker. Any suggestions on brand and model?

Thanks,
John

John,

Superwinch S5000 for my Mustang, and has no problem pulling my restored 57 Belair into the trailer either. Its better to have more winch than car.

Harbor Freight has it 12,000 lb. Badlands remote winch on sale every month
or two for $295.00......Probably not the best in the industry but for the amount we use it at the track it is good enough for us! They do sell an extended warranty on the things for a little extra.

I just bought a 3500 Lb. Badlands remote winch on a coupon they sent me for $49.00 for my open trailer.
I will let you know if it catches my race car on fire.......it has to be the bottom of the food chain!

I have one of the Harbor Freight winches. It has outlasted both the Warn and Superwinches that I had in the past. Can't go wrong for the price

You don't need more winch capacity than the weight of the car; it is only being pulled, not lifted. I generally drive the car into the trailer, so I have a Dutton Lainson 2500 lb. hand winch mounted in the trailer with u bolts around the frame of the trailer. It has no motor or battery to fail. I painted a stripe on the floor and front wall that lines up with a crease on the car's hood; I get within about an inch of perfectly centered with it.
