Default The "eBay CJ!" (2010 Mustang CJ 352 Build)

This build thread is to document our transformation of a pedestrian 2012 Mustang V6 into a 2010 Mustang Cobra Jet with the 352 ci engine and, most importantly, a STICK!!

With this thread we hope to show that you do not need $100,000 to build a new style 'Factory' Stocker, but doing it this way requires a lot of time and effort and the patience to seek out favorable deals on components as they show up - much like building a traditional Stocker on a budget!

Here's the car we're starting with...purchased for $5600 from a Southside Auto, a dealer located just 45 miles away in Faribault MN.

The first order of business was to repair the left front damage, which turned out to be relatively minor. After a brand new fender and headlight assembly, and the help of Mike's Frame Services in South Minneapolis, the damage was repaired within 3 days.

The front bumper assembly has already been discarded to make way for a new one (the V6 front end is slightly different than what's on the CJ) and the hood of course will also be replaced with the standard fiberglass CJ piece.

Nick,

You are beginning a very interesting project. What you are doing is the classic definition of hot rodding.

I like the concept and will be following with interest.

Thank you for posting the project. You are on the forefront of what could be a very popular, very valid movement.

We often hear it said that drag racing needs new blood, new interest. Well, this is it.

Good job!
