Talking Live from Epping , NH - NHRA Lucas Oil Series

Well just like our friend Bob Frey would say - "in the interest of fair reporting" - I must report the fact that I'm really not live as business problems popped up recently that have kept me from making the trip to New England Dragway this weekend .That said I've got some "peeps" , a few locals , maybe an official or two , not to mention some friends who are willing to help out this weekend in letting the countries Sportsman racers know whats happening there .

If you're at the race feel free to jump in with any news you might have along with taking and posting photos .

Back a little later as my phone is ringing already ..........

That sucks Jack, but health, family and work are more important priorities.
Get it done and see you next time.

Hello Everyone!

Here we are live from New England Dragway. I'll do my best to live up to Jack's expectations...

It's now 12:50 pm and Stock has received two hits already and Super Stock one hit. Top Sportsman is running now. Much nicer weather than we have had the past few weeks. Weather conditions during the 2nd Stock qualifier were:

Temp 71 degrees
Humidity 54%
Barometer 29.92
DA 1409
2 - 3 mph crosswind

Most I have talked to are 5 to 6 quicker than Saturday morning at Lebanon Valley.

That's all for now. I'll grab some pictures as the afternoon progresses.

Wink Re: Live from Epping , NH - NHRA Lucas Oil Series

Stock - Q1 - Charlie ( where the hell have you been ) Sousa on the pole @ -.988 under with his impeckable '69 Chevelle .

The A/SA 's of Jewell , Gray Pagano and Boudreau are all bunched within a few hundreths .

And the same with B/SA's of Carroll , Medieros , Weidhass , and Kreeber .

Alan Peters - former D1 standout and former World Champion ( who won everything in sight back in the day ) is back with us after residing in Florida .And I'm told in his original car - '69 Camaro .

Canadian Super Stocker Bruce Reilly blew up his Kenworth motorhome on the way to Epping and after a fresh sleeve job along with a piston and head is at the track racing today - whew , what an effort ! ! !

Early morning weather - 70 degrees , humidity 46% , barometer 29.92 - final DA 1333 feet .

Back a little later ....................

Unfortunately work life won out over racing life today...but I'll be there with camcorder all ready and fired up bright and early tomorrow morning. The racing looks great as I read on DRC however...WHERE ARE ALL THE SS's!?! 35 after round one, I've never seen such a small turnout here in the Northeast(for an NHRA race anyway lol). Have fun everyone, see you Saturday!

Here's a few shots from today's action...

First couple of shots were from the mad thrash in the Larry Pappas / Donnie Carroll pit. Donnie had an oil pump pickup come off, requiring them to pull the engine to repair it. Remaining shots are from in and around the staging lanes during the 2nd Super Stock qualifying shot.

Looks like tomorrow will be our standard single qualifying shot for most classes, then on to round 1...

Mr.Riley also blew the motor in his car last month at one of our local s/ss races here in the maritimes!! So, ya, what an incredible effort!! And, Mr.Thibeault is on top of the qual. sheet!!

Good morning and welcome to day 2 of the New England Dragway LODRS event. Looks like it is going to be a good day with clear skies and cool temperatures. Here's the weather info as of 8:00 am this morning:

Temp 62.7 degrees
Humidity 96.4%
Barometer 29.93
DA 968'
No Wind

Looks like it should be a tick faster than yesterday morning.

Stock should be out first at 9:00. More reports as the day progresses...

Good morning kids - First off congrats go out to chassis builder Mark Markow who yesterday set the SS/TB record - certification is to happen this morning but he says his house is in order if you get my drift .The record numbers ? 9 flat - just missed putting it into the eights by .0008 - bummer .

Jacque Blaise showed up yesterday - he blew up last week at Napierville and the current S/S points leader was not expected to be seen this weekend .Great effort by Jacque and his entire team .

Speaking of Napierville - last weeks winner Dave Casey must be feeling his oats after the ten grand win ........he just pulled into gate a little while ago - one hit this morning is all he needs - then onto elims .

Stock is to lead off in less tan half-an-hour .............There's a rumor floating around that elims for Stock and S/S will be at 7pm tonight - i'll try and get that cofirmed .

As for S/S - whats up with the short field ? Less than forty is not good .
