I don't think the auto manufacturers have a choice...
The government is pushing EVs with mileage mandates and outlawing IC automobiles, by what 2050?
Look at what they are doing with the light bulbs...

It's a brave new world...

Was just in Lowes a couple days ago. My ritual was to always to pick up light bulbs on my way out the door. Been going to that Lowes store since they built it many decades ago. It occurred to me "I ain't bought any light bulbs for what seems like years ! " As much as I bitched when they forced those light bulbs down our throats it certainly is nice not having to buy them all the time.

Ha..I have an LED bulb in a bucket light. I managed to knock it loose from my press. When it hit the floor ,the glass bulb shell broke loose and fell off..It still works! Kinda bright. LOL
I put LED bulbs in my RV interior lighting fixtures. That was 7 years ago, and I haven't lost one yet. The whole pack was under $20 from Epay.

Goes to show. Things aren't always worse..Just different.
I suppose we can still b*tch about where the stuff is made.

My question is how long can Ford stay out of bankruptcy loosing that kind of money a year?
One other observation is that many of the foreign car makers are not following the same plans as Ford.
I certainly hope the U.S. taxpayers do not get stuck with bailing out Ford like was done for GM and Chrysler.
I personally will never own an EV
Just my take.
