Smile Something good for my feet at the track

I am constantly looking for a great shoe that can handle my worn out bad feet for all day at the track. Has anyone tried any of those crew shoes like GForce, Simpson or any of the race equipment people advertise. I really want black for obvious purposes but a real shoe at the same time, not a cheap athletic shoe, really like ankle support too or high top. I am open for real hands on suggestions. Anyone ???

Not sure if they will have it this year but Simpson has a giant sale of discontiuned merchandise an greatly reduced prices at Indy -- I bou\ght a pair of shoes that looked like racing shoes in black--- comfy and reasonably priced like $20 or so lasted a long time too--FED 387

In my experience , none of the race shoes are up to the task of caring for your feet when walking around. They are great when you are in the car. Light weight thon sole that lets you feel the clutch pedal. Etc.
I was at Indy a few years back. Walking around on some crew shoes. Ended up with plantar fasciatis. That was a miserable experience for me anyway. Not saying it would happen to you or anyone else, but I did learn a lot about shoes. LOL. I threw out about six pair and put orthodics in all other shoes. I don't have any problems with the system I have now. Race shoes in race car and then my regular shoes when outside the car. Not a big deal since I need to take my shoes off to put the fire pants on.

Converse All star, Black high top.
Zipper on the side for quick on and off.

These are what the Fire Department supplied.

Thay are like walking on a cloud.

Get the full length insoles too.
They should be available at Police/Fire/Uniform supply stores.

And DO NOT forget the 'heel cup' for all your other shoes.

Get the good heel cup at a full service pharmacy.

I had a broken foor that healed wrong and bone spurs.

I walked all over Las Vegas with my cowboy boots last oct. and didn't have an issue with tired feet.

Sounds like good advice. I've worn quite a few of the Simpson, Impact, G-Force, etc. driving and crew shoes, and, like James said, they are not good for extended walking or standing.

Having been a serious runner for 45 years I can attest to the importance of not only a good fit but also a shoe suited for your particular gait and size. Running (and hiking) shoes are generally built with different lasts and structure based on four basic needs (styles); cushioning, stability, motion-control, and neutral. Suggest you visit a reputable running/hiking store, many of which have treadmills with video cameras so a gait specialist can tell you the best shoe for your needs. I particularly favor New Balance because they have a great business model and most of their high end shoes are made in the USA. Avoid the typical racing/crew shoe like the plague. I generally keep racing shoes behind the seat and don't put them on till I'm ready to get my racing pants on and they go right back behind the seat after a run.

Have a pair of low-cut Doc Martins, do a little research about the brand and you will find they are made for English Bobbies and Postal workers. They aren't pretty but comfortable.
