Mid Atlantic .90 Race #1 & 2 (Take 2) - May 20th & 21st - CC
Well, Mother Nature got the best of us this past weekend at Atco but, the good part is we don't have long till the next .90 race to finally kick off the 2023 season at Cecil County in Rising Sun, Md on May 20th & 21st. Here are all the details for that weekend and remember ANYONE can come race with us, there is no association / member fee that you need to pay to race with us but, if you want to run for the year end championship there is a $80 fee. All NHRA rules apply including safety equipment.
Gate Entry: $50 per day plus crew / $90 at Registration per day (Optional $20 Calcutta) Payouts are not reflecting Calcutta purse. Payout to 3rd round loser 32 Cars: W: $1,500 RUP: $600 40 Cars: W: $1750 RUP: $700 50 Cars: W: $2,000 RUP: $850 Anyways, here is the parking map that we'd like you all to be parked on for the weekend if possible, I think the .90 crew always knows where to park, so should be no issues. Of course, if someone parks on one side or the other, we don't really have an issue with that, just make sure you are ready when we call you. Radio Station is 100.1 and can say that Cecil has installed some new speakers at the track as I know in the past hearing calls to the lanes was an issue. Please also NOTE where the registration trailer will be located, this will be in the lanes, not by my trailer this year!! This will make it an easy access for when your in the lanes! Friday Night, May 19th - Gates open 5pm, Racing 6pm-10pm. Racers $30 each, No Time $40 each, Crew and Spectators $15 each. Gates close at 10:30pm Saturday May 20th & 21st - Gates open 8am, Racing to kick off with Juniors at 9-9:30am. ***Tentative Run Order - Saturday*** 9am - Juniors Q1 Pro - Tree Challenge Q1 Super Street Q1 Super Gas Q1 Super Comp Q1 Juniors Q2 Pro - Tree Challenge Q2 Super Street Q2 Super Comp Q2 Top Dragster Q1 Super Gas Q2 Top Sportsman Q1 Juniors R1 Pro - Tree Challenge R1 Super Street R1 Super Comp R1 Top Dragster Q2 Super Gas R1 Top Sportsman Q2 Juniors R2 Junior 2nd Chance Race R1 Pro - Tree Challenge R2 Super Street R2 Super Comp R2 Top Dragster Q3 - Round 1 of Bad 8 Race (4) Super Gas R2 Top Sportsman Q3 - Round 1 of Bad 8 Race (4) Run finals all together After finals: Racers BBQ held at the .90 Pit Spot, all are welcomed - BYOB ***Tentative Run Order - Sunday*** 9am - Juniors Q1 Pro - Tree Challenge Q1 Super Street Q1 Super Gas Q1 Super Comp Q1 Depending on car counts and time, we might do another qualifier for the .90 crew but, as always that is tentative because I know we all want to be home at a decent hour for that dreaded W word on Monday! Re: Mid Atlantic .90 Race #1 & 2 (Take 2) - May 20th & 21st
So first Mid Atlantic Super Series weekend in the books. First off I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who came out this weekend! Pretty close to 200 cars on Saturday and about 205 on Sunday, which in turn is about 60 cars less than the D1 race with 3 less classes. Saturday had its ups & downs as we figured out a system that works for us, working with a new trailer, new payment system and all while fighting Mother Nature who wasn’t playing nice but, we live and learn from weekends like this, and we figure out how to make it better the next time out.
Congrats to all the winners from this weekend! Saturday Results: Super Comp: W: Tom Stalba RUP: Dave Long Super Gas: W: Bob Phillips RUP: Nick Volpe Super Street: W: Frank Volpe III RUP: Tim Diorio Juniors: W: Charlotte Ecks RUP: Austin Bucher Bad 8: W: Ronnie Proctor RUP: Jared Kissinger Sunday: Super Comp: W: Dave Rowe RUP: Tom Stalba Super Gas: W: Vince Fourcade Jr RUP: Ron Orbin Super Street: W: Frank Volpe III RUP: Dave E’Nama Juniors: W: Frankie Aragona III RUP: FJ Vigonola Top 32 Final: W: Mark Kelley (TD) RUP: Joey Heffernan (TS) |
