Kinda-sorta LIVE from IHRA Div 9 Piedmont
I have no signal at the track, and I pulled a crazy stunt yesterday that left me no time to post: Made 1 qualifying run at Piedmont Dragway for the IHRA Div 9 Pro-Am, then loaded up and rolled almost 2 hours to Wilkesboro Raceway Park for the Tom Watson Memorial $10K Footbrake race... Rolled through the gates as the national anthem was playing! Never been to the track before, dialed blind, but managed to run within .01 or so. Went a couple rounds but got packaged up hard a couple times! Stupid, but fun, and got to see a new place and some old friends. Sometimes stupid tricks work out, just not this time. ;-) Track worked great, and the car printed tickets.

Re: Kinda-sorta LIVE from IHRA Div 9 Piedmont
Saw it in the Combo race when I got back to Piedmont last night. From hanging on the fence by the finish line, I thought it was a Super Stocker! The car leaves absolutelt wicked. He's really happy and having a ton of fun.
Ed Longhany Sr. did yet another MONSTER wheelstand in his Duster. If you're not watching live on MotorManiaTV, catch it on the rewind!

Re: Kinda-sorta LIVE from IHRA Div 9 Piedmont
Longhany's car was smoking heavily on his semi-final bye. It must have dropped something on the track because there was an extensive cleanup in his lane afterwards. In the final (last pass of the day) he ran it out after his foul and again it smoked so much that it could have done it a second time.

Complete results from Piedmont:
http://dragstory.com/forum/index.php?board=174.0 Some Sunday pics... Ed Carpenter would feel right at home around here... That's my partner in Loose Rocker Promotion, Anthony Walton, in the synergy green Camaro. 3rd generation driver Kyle Shipmon got him in a close one. Brandon White (far) broke out a thou to Mark Lewis. Chip Johnson won the battle of the slow rides with the former Greg Fulk Cutlass over Mike Moller's U/SA Shannon Justice made a successful Stock debut with the family's Mustang, stopping Mike Moyer's Firebird along the way. Wiley veteran Gene Jordan ran dead-on 0 to push out Andrew Hilling Terry Taylor's .006 light gave him room to groove against recent CCRA R/U AJ Currie. Taylor went on to win the event.

Re: Kinda-sorta LIVE from IHRA Div 9 Piedmont
CJ McDonald converted his former Pure Stocker into an H/SA combo for this season. He had a .000 light against Bill Lofton's Chevelle, but broke out. Jim Marshall and Cody Phillips were both flying high this weekend Marshall won the match in a close double breakout. In the first round, Mike Longhany bulbed against Mike Moyer. North Carolina is home to the Classic Gearjammers. There were 9 or more stick cars in Super Stock this weekend, putting on a GREAT show!

Ed Longhany's first round and second round wheelstands, from MotorManiaTV. Look up http://motormaniatv.com/?page_id=324 on the Sunday 1 video at 2:53:30 and 4:08:20
Round 1 Close, but he missed it, and saved the car! Round 2 ...and went on to R/U in Super Stock!
