Default Need some Grade Point advise

I would like to get a grade point at this weekends race at Indy. Problem is Merc is driving our car so what other options do I have?

The way I understand it is I only have to pay my entry fee, and go through tech with something that will pass all without ever having to make a run. Is this true?

Or....can a car go through tech twice with different competition numbers on it?
Or....can I take a rental car through tech that is slow enough to pass as is without needing a roll bar, etc.?
Or....does someone have a stocker in the area that I could take through tech that isn't planning to race? Of coarse I will pay your expenses to bring it to the track and I will not make a run. Just show up and hang with me through tech then virtually leave if you want, or enjoy the races all weekend on me.

Or...??

Thanks!

Mike,
I would contact your division tech director. That way YOU know exactly where they stand, and they will be expecting you. Our guys in D-5 are great, I am sure yours are as well, and willing to help.

Good luck,
Sean

Any low class street car or rental car that is classified will do. My stocker got grade points for somebody a couple of times and never left the trailer.

Mr Keener there is a provision in the rule for entry into national events for car owners. I read the rule and dont quite understand it but if you are listed as the car owner on your entry you can use this as owner points to use for entry into a national event. I would speak to someone for clarification but this came up a couple weeks ago when Victor Cagnazzi used this provision to enter at Maple Grove.

Mike
Based on the recent events at the Reading national event you get grade points for being an owner,at least it was that way for Victor Cagnazzi. Call Rich at the division HQ and check into that aspect of things. Better explained in post #6.

See you at Indy

For as long as you two have been racing with the NHRA you shouldn’t need any grade points. I think any owner/Driver with over say 100 NHRA entries should be grandfathered in.
I don’t know you but I know I have seen your names on cars since I have paid any attention to Drag racing. So I am sure you would qualify.

Bet you got an email offer to buy some John Force t-shirts though! And don't forget the first of season fan guide...

Mike, are you wanting a grade point for the Gators? One point will probably do it and finding a cheap Dodge Caravan that's in the guide is probably the cheapest and cleanest way. Really sorry to see your Motorhome fire loss...hope insurance covers the whole deal.
