Default Factory Showdown Cars

Maybe I am an uninformed (or senile) senior citizen, but I don't remember the Factory Showdown cars signing up fpr Indy as their own eliminator. Is this the first year for that? Also, does this mean they are in their own eliminator and don't bump in to the Stock field if they don't qualify for the Factory Showdown?

This is what I've been led to believe.

Finally they put those "factory" cars with their purpose built, one off custom race engines into a class where they belong, away from stock eliminator.

Factory Showdown has been that way all year at the races at which they have run! I think they like it better that way and I know we like it better that way!!

It has been that way all year for the races at which the Factory Stock Showdown has been contested. NHRA announced the change late last year.

Thanks for the feedback. As usual I am a day late and a dollar short. LOL I just missed the announcement and had to get caught up.

You can sign up for the Factory Stock Showdown class or Stock eliminator if you're running in FS/AA or FS/A or whatever, but whichever you sign up for is what you're in, if they don't qualify for the Showdown class they don't bump back down into stock anymore. If someone came with 2 cars they could sign up for both the Factory Stock Showdown and Stock eliminator with the separate cars.
