Golf Cart On An Open Trailer?
Does anybody haul a golf cart on a open trailer? I would think it would try to rip the roof off. Lets hear your experiences.

Re: Golf Cart On An Open Trailer?
Joe,
Was thinking the same thing and one day I saw an open trailer load of them on the Interstate. I once hauled one close to 600 miles in the back of a pickup. No problems with the roof on cart that time either. |

Quote:
On older models w/1-pc roofs, you should back them in or onto a trailer! If you drive them in, Add short motorcycle tie-downs to secure the roof struts to the cart. If not the TOP WILL FLIP OPEN! OUCH! |

Re: Golf Cart On An Open Trailer?
Thanks for the responses. I was thinking of hauling it on the trailer sideways in front of the car.

Same here. Think a pad for the front wheels or a stop might need to be created to drive up against on loading.

Re: Golf Cart On An Open Trailer?
A friend of mine, Brian Thompson, hauls his golf cart on an open trailer. If any of you were at Brainerd he was there. His trailer is a 2 car open trailer with the golf cart in between them during travel. He can be contacted here, his user name is fordteacherguy. I don't know for sure if he has ever had any issues hauling it, better check with him.

Re: Golf Cart On An Open Trailer?
No problem towing a golf cart on trailer. Towed many a mile over the last 4 years with no issues. I did remove the clip in windshield to allow the air to pass through cleanly. Trailer was designed for the car ramps to go on the sides to load. Works great!

Re: Golf Cart On An Open Trailer?
A friend just hauled his sideways on the front of an open trailer for the first time and lost the clip-on windshield after about 75 miles. Fortunately it missed the car when it took flight. No problems otherwise.
