The 28x10.5 M/T is popular on this combo. Ten inch wheel with 6.5 backspace AND a big hammer for the inner panel adjustments. A small spacer may be needed.

The Goodyear 28x10 has a smaller section width and might not need a spacer.

A 29 inch tall tire will require front notching of the quarter panel.

Looking at some SSer's such as Randal Klein's 56 Nomad, he uses a stocker radial, 9" X 30.
Try a M/T 9.X29.5 radial.
